Locks
1. Finger Lock:
This is could be used if your opponent is trying to distract your eyes with his fingers (like a trick), then if you are able to grab his fingers and wrist you can apply it….
There is of course many other ways to apply this lock and many variations of it, try to understand the theory about how these locks works and not focus on the single technique so much….
That way you will learn to be able to improvise and adapt to a attack and not only have a few moves, but a unlimited number and ways of moving.
2. Wrist Lock:
Hold the hand without supporting the Wrist, use large circular movement while you pull the Wrist with you using the legs….
3. Reverse Wrist Lock:
This is much like above, just reversed (as the name says). Again remember when you hold the hand, dont support the wrist and use your legs to get force in the technique….
4. Armbar:
The Armbar can be done both stading and in ground fighting (look pictures), all locks can be done both standing and in ground fighting. But the Armbar is very known for being used in the ground, the counter to a armbar in the ground fight is simply rolling your shoulder…
5. Shoulder lock:
This one gives you a lot of control of your opponent, since he is down and you are sitting on his bag…
I have seen it done where Martial Artist use their hands to make the lock and i also seen where they would use their feet, so they still had their hands/arms free….
6. Head lock/twist:
You put pressure on a kuysho point beside the nose with your thumb and grab the opponents head with the palm and put your other hand behind his neck….
Used fast this is more effective, then it sounds and i have seen it been applied as a counter to the mount and a counter to chokes (both standing and in the ground)…..
6. Leg lock:
In ground fighting you can often grab a hold of your opponents leg and make a lock, on the street we would not used ground fighting unless we had to since there might be more then one opponent and using the leg lock on the street could also be dangerous, since your opponent might kick you in your head……
