KAMAE
Shizen no Kamae (Earth): Stand relaxed and safe, from here you can move in any direction….
Neutral attitude
(We start all our defences in this position, since its most likely to look like how you would stand on the Street).
Ichimonji no Kamae (Water): This is a way to lure the opponent a little to far out…..
Defensive attitude
Jumonji no Kamae (Fire): A way to press your opponent that forces him to react and so his true color….
Aggressive attitude
(We use the Villasin Style Combat Stance as our Fire stand).
Hira no Kamae (Wind): A attitude from which true Ukemi can be trained….
Reciving attitude
Hicho no Kamae (Earth and Wind): Flying from battle, the stability is larger then the opponent thinks. This position can also be used as a quick way to get balance to your mind. Because you cant stand on one leg, if your mind is out of balance (focus). (it can also be used as a block against low kicks).
Doko no Kamae (Water and Fire): A position that puts pressure on the opponent, because it shows aggressive attitude (Fire) by the fist, but is still defensive (Water) also, when you look at the stand…
Kosei no Kamae (Vind and Fire): Tricks the opponent to think you are open, when in fact its a set up…..
Remember the positions (Kamaes) would in real combat get smaller and they are like pictures of bodymovement during a fight not static and dead, but they should be used during sparring and with aliveness…..
The reason we start we training them large is its safe for the beginnig student, trains the muscles and the subcon./body to remember your movement correct…
We also try to hide the technique in Ninjutsu, so the opponent wont know what happen or even if you did know Martial Arts afterwards…..
Some of the best techniques are those the opponent, never see comming so always have a “secret weapon”…….
